When I was little I had a healthy balance of Barbies and a collection of model dinosaurs from the Natural History Museum. But it shouldn't be the parents sole responsibility to steer children toward one thing or another; they should be allowed to make their own choices. That is where marketing, advertising and packaging becomes so potent. A little girl, who is dressed in dresses and has long hair (which is the norm for Western children) will associate with other little girls and therefore what they are playing with. I think watering down the strong gender stereotyping is definitely the way to go. I hope by the time that I have children, that this will be the case.
Absolutely, feels like a perfect fit...maybe someone should go and speak to Andrex, and see what they've got to say... :)
I would buy recycled loo roll if the quality was a little nicer, but I guess that's the issue with it being recycled... But of all the day-to-day products we use, surely loo roll should be one of the main things where manufacturers are looking to be more environmentally considerate.
Thanks for your input guys, interesting that the issue here isn't really about 'Washlets' or any kind of moist cleaning equipment it's actually far deeper, with a concern over how we are contributing to our Earth's demise. There are a few 100% recycled products out there, interestingly can't seem to find one from Andrex. Would you use a recycled roll?
